Every year I come to realize just a little bit more how important it is to know how to exercise safely in hot weather. I’ve known its importance to some degree for my entire life. Still, it isn’t until this particular time in my life that it has truly felt real, not just conceptual. So, as though there aren’t enough places sharing tips of this nature, I’m going to share my favorites here, in case it reaches someone and helps to save them from having something dangerous happen this summer.
Dry eyes are very uncomfortable. I put it right up there with dry itchy skin. So just as I am careful with my skin care routine, I’m also kind to those peepers that let me see. After all, I have only two of them, they’ve worked very hard over the last decades, and if I mess them up, I don’t get new ones.
The Anthropocene Reviewed is a strikingly unexpected book that I’m grateful to have read and know I will read again. I’d been told by friends that it was something worth reading, despite its title and the fact that it is a book of essays, which makes me think of school and book reports, not enjoyment. Still, my friends were certainly right, and I’m grateful to them for recommending this book to me.
