Your Sleep Position Isn’t Ideal

To combat this, you can place a supportive pillow in between the knees so that the hips can remain in proper alignment. That will allow your body to get into a completely relaxed and pain-free mode of rest so you can awake refreshed.

You’re Grinding Your Teeth
Many people grind their teeth while they sleep without even realizing that they’re doing it. If you end up waking up in the morning with a headache, it’s likely that you’d been grinding your teeth or even just clenching your jaw while you were asleep. To counteract this, you can put a damp, warm cloth on your jaw prior to going to bed. You can even massage the area so that it will relax. If that doesn’t work, however, you can ask your dentist about getting a mouth guard that will prevent teeth grinding altogether.

You Have Undiagnosed Sleep Apnea
Another one of the reasons why you’re still tired could be that you have sleep apnea that hasn’t yet been diagnosed. This condition causes you to stop breathing briefly several times throughout the night, and that results in poor sleep quality that causes you to be tired the next day. To get the right diagnosis, you’ll need to see a sleep specialist.

If you find yourself waking up feeling groggy, even though you got quite a few hours of sleep, talk to your doctor. You might be grinding your teeth or be suffering with sleep apnea. It may, however, be even simpler than that, as it could just be a matter of how you sleep during the night.
